Melco Announces New Embroidery Machine
DENVER, CO - Melco Embroidery Systems proudly announces the AMAYA XT commercial embroidery machine and operating system. Melco combined customer feedback with industry demands and created a solution that will revolutionize the industry. The AMAYA XT still has the same features as the AMAYA with sewing capabilities of up to 1500 stitches per minutes, modular design, precise thread tension using the Acti-feed Thread tension technology, a laser tracing eye, and a Color backup system.
The AMAYA XT OS (operating system) can still be used with a single head machine or a multi-head up to 30 machines through networking by Ethernet. When any single “event” occurs, such as a thread break, bobbin change, or hoop change, every head in the configuration comes to a stop. With AMAYA each head operates independently so an individual head never stops the production of the remainder of heads. AMAYA is uninterrupted by thread breaks and uninterrupted by component failure.
New AMAYA XT Embroidery Machine Features
- Smallest cylindrical arm with new cap frame and cap driver allowing for the largest cap sewing field in the industry 3.2 x 14.
- Narrow Tubular Driver allows for sewing small areas such as pockets, children’s garments, and golf club covers.
- New color change system - Higher reliability color change system
- Sequin Attachment - Up to 1300 sequins per minute sequin placement system, 3, 5, 7mm sequins
- Small, medium, and large table top attachments
- New look silver and gray
AMAYA XT OS (operating system) New Features / Changes
Voice notification – AMAYA “speaks” to the user (English only), informing the user of thread breaks, bobbin breaks, etc. Can be combined with wireless headset for mobility in large system applications. A new property page has been added in the Tools/Options property page titled “Notifications”. This property page allows the user to define which notification messages will be displayed in popup windows and played through the text to speech system.

- Added a button to the color change sequence dialog to allow the user to step backward through the design in addition to forward. Available at all product levels.
- Job List Enhancements – Added ability to specify how many times a job should be run. Added feature allowing display of the design notes when job loads from design queue. Available at all product levels.
- Auto / Manual Acti-Feed by Color added
- Implemented a min and max speed limit for AMAYA and AMAYA XT. Made default high speed 1500 and min speed 300. Based their availability to user on Admin Login.
- A "Return to Design" feature has been added to the machine RSA files. The user can stop anywhere in a design, move the racks around and "Return to Design" will reposition the racks to exactly where the machine stopped sewing so you can start sewing exactly where you left off. The keypad keys for this are the left and right arrow keys, both pressed at the same time.
- Numerous improvements made to Automatic Acti-Feed.
- Grid Ruler - A grid ruler has been added to the edit window for the X and Y axis. This feature will make the precise placement of points and elements easier. The Grid Ruler can be turned on and off via the View:Grid Ruler menu item. It’s units of measure is tied to the Grid / Grid Rule control in Tools:Options:Grid/Grid Ruler.

- Conversion of Jump Stitches to Trims - AMAYA XT now detects jump stitches as Trims in all expanded file types. Jump stitch count for conversion to trim is settable in the Options:FileOptions dialog box. Available at all product levels.
- ZSK Code Export - Added ability to read ZSK needle mapping and set appropriate color change sequence in the machine settings. In order for the needle mapping to occur, the user must read in the ZSK file and then save as an OFM. Then load the OFM file. Available at all product levels
- Barcode support added for designs, hoops, etc
